Most of you have known me before and after I was diagnosed with PD. Parkinson’s is a sneaky little devil of a disease.
I used to think of PD as the squatter in my apartment building. I didn’t like that it was there but I was determined to coexist peacefully with it. Then, without my permission, the squatter got a promotion to superintendent and had a great deal more power over my building’s daily maintenance, making it harder for me to ignore.
Recently the superintendent had the opportunity to buy my apartment building and is now the landlord. A demanding landlord – who gets paid in drugs — Sinemet— every 2 1/2 hours. But it’s still not satisfied and little by little it raises the rent, demands more drugs, and plays pulsing electronic music that jars the building and makes it shake.
I really would like to reclaim my apartment building. From what I hear, there are a lot of people who want to say goodbye to that nasty landlord and with your help that just might be possible.
